Monday morning, I headed to the land Sunday night, with my buddy whose dad owns the land. He got a wild hair and bought a bow, whatever welcome to archery. Happy for him. Morning is going according to plan. Get to the land, land owners friend and wife and son are there.... Great. Oh well enough stands. 5 people in 40 acres is a little to much pressure for me. Oh well life goes on. Get in my stand at 0545 see my first spike buck of the season at 0615, tons of movement all morning. About 8 after seeing a basket 6 around 0750 I get a text saying just shot a 6 point buck from my buddy. Ok... Whatever you want to shoot that go ahead. Well. 3 hours of him gutting it and dragging it out basically killed the hunt yesterday. Bad storms today and windy as hell tomorrow. I do believe I will be going solo Friday Saturday Sunday. Woof.

Seen many friends and family come un-benefited from sharing hunting land.

It took him 3 hours to drag/gut a deer from a 40 acre lot?

Well with pictures and changing hats between and getting the props in and posing with the deer, 3 hours isn't that long.:)

You're hunting his families property, don't think there is much to complain about. You lost 1 day of hunting, I would have helped a buddy gut, drag, enjoy his first bow kill.

I am teaching a friend the ins and outs of bowhunting this year.... CERTAINLY has been a bit frustrating... well ALOT actually. BUT I am happy that he has decided to take up the sport. Having a tag along on nearly every hunt this year has really taken a toll on my patience though. It is easier to teach a child IMO. Even after stressing scent MULTIPLE times to him I would pick him up to hunt and he smelled like Old Spice or Axe or whatever the heck he was using. I finally bought him some scent free products and told him to use them or not go anymore lol That has been just one of many challenges so far, but I am sure when he gets his first bow kill those painfull memories will quickly fade lmao

Yeah, I was on a lease that size with 5+ others and I eventually stepped out. To many hunters for that size land.

How could you spoil the man like that? You are supposed to put him on dinks for at least 3 years! You want to mentor me?!
