to dovetail onto this...... http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/09/the-coddling-of-the-american-mind/399356/ long read, but worth it.
Not only is the audience bigger, but the things people are taking offense to are completely asinine and nonsensical. History may be repeating itself but we're further down the slippery slope, that isn't something to just yawn over. Eventually there's going to be a breaking point and things will get nasty.
It's something how everything has switched over from don't shoot hands up....to Black Lives Matter.....to kill all cops and now this.....
The thing is the same rights that protect the westboro baptist church nut jobs is the same that protects everything else, including racist remarks. Can't say it's okay the protects one and not the other.
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/11/1...over-email-flap/?vgnextrefresh=1&intcmp=hpbt1 It's getting worse.
The people acting this way are getting what they want right now but what I dont think they understand is they are not making race relations get better for the long term. I think a lot of Americans are getting sick of being blamed for everything. I do not think this is going to end well. These POS politicians using any race issue to get in the spot light are even worse than these scrum bags starting these riots.
its amazing all of this is happening based off complete lies and fabrications these kids, and others around the country, desperately want there to be actual racial strife, so much so that they are resorting to make up stories to incite riots I mean...the other night the student president was telling people on twitter that the KKK was killing black students on campus, which of course, was completely false, but people started running with it and organizing riots and whatnot He didn't retract those statements until 1 professor had resigned because he told his students that they would still have to come to class to take a test and they all called him racist and threatened him
just saw something about hunger strike boy fabricating the whole thing about being ran over by a car and stuff also.... boy this sounds an AWFUL lot like how this escalated in ferguson. no facts, just conjecture/speculation and emotions. I thought institutions of higher learning were supposed to value fact and reason over speculation and assumption, my god I fear for our future.
I hadn't heard about the run over by the car thing. I did read that his father is a railroad tycoon and worth more than $20 million. Edit: Just to clarify, coming from a rich family doesn't mean he is immune to racial slurs and discrimination. It just strikes me as odd that someone with a silver spoon can cry foul about special treatment and privilege.
At least the bimbo in the video calling for muscle to remove the guy video recording has resigned as well.
Look at these "demands" by Black activist group Concerned Student 1950....absolutely unreal. Seriously, speechless. Number 1 is very telling to what is happening in our country. 1) Tim Wolfe must acknowledge his white male privilege, recognize that systems of oppression exist, and provide a verbal commitment to fulfilling Concerned Student 1-9-5-*0 demands. http://www.ijreview.com/2015/11/466606-read-the-absurd-list-of-demands-u-of-missouri-students-just-dropped-on-their-university/
All of these "movements" are asinine. These folks may be having their day in the sun, 15 minutes of fame, etc., at the moment, but they're poking the "sleeping bear". Hopefully, next year's election nips this crap in the bud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
