That's pricey! Bet he is the one posting ads on Craigslist for Iowa even though it's illegal lol. Still worth it! Now remember that price tag and make a quick ethical kill next time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a chunk of cash. Because of short notice? I get the distance but isn't every call going to be short notice? Lol.
Yes it is a lot of money. I am lucky, I have awesome parents. They helped with half. To me and them it is worth every penny. I'm blessed to have such great parents, and a successful recovery. That deer is as big as they get around here, and I couldnt be happier. His normal price is 200$, but with the traveling he made us that deal and we took it, because he was the only one that was available. Very nice guy too. It was a cool experience, and plus my dad loved seeing those dogs working!
Yeah, a little steep on the $$ side... here there is a blood hound association and it's $100-150 depending on the distance. But I'm glad you went for the dogs and recovered the deer.
Glad it all turned out well. Hopefully you learned a lot from all of this. Namely the different outcome of not recovering him would have been even more of a sting at $600 or whatever price he would have charged in that instance. You could have given up but you took many's advice on the dog which could have been necessary on a perfectly broadside deer too. Live and learn, perhaps next time if you aren't planning to shoot a deer in the attitude it is standing it may be best to move the sights off to the side just in case.
