How have you guys been hunting this heat that we have? The rut is supposed to be kicking in soon and it's going to be 70 into the end of next week? What to do what to do
I hunt Guernsey county...my weather app is showing hi 50's mid 30's starting Friday...I'm hoping rut starts hard sat morning
This weekend in SW Ohio the weather shows highs in the mid 50s and lows in the low 30s. The kicker though is the high barometric pressure and 4-5 mph wind. After a few little storms on Thursday and possibly Friday, I'd be in the stand this weekend.
Wait for the weekend. Mid 50's for highs. Lows in the 40's and 30's. Should get deer moving especially when it is going to be in the mid 70's this week.
Ive heard alot of people saying there still seeing big bucks chasing even in the heat even though it makes it harder Id say just go when you can cuz you never know. Im gonna go tomorow evening and saturday morning so well see what happends. I hope it gets better for us all!
I know 3 people who have killed 160-170 inch deer in the last 2 days. Heat or no heat, the bucks are on their feet.
Not sure why people won't hunt when the temp is 60+ in November.... The bucks don't just lay around all day because it's too warm. This is the time they wait for all year.
^^^Agreed. I have seen quite a few bucks fall within the last week. I would get out there as much as possible right now. Saturday morning should be almost perfect conditions in central Ohio.
I've had to work, that's the only thing that keeps me out of the stand in November. Heat or no heat, I hunt when I don't work.
It's not going to stop me from being in the stand I have been in the stand every day for the past week just no deer here lately
I shot my biggest buck to date on a day that reached 70 + degrees, this time of year when the buck are starting to cruise looking for hot doe, temperatures and weather no longer matter. I would be out in the woods if at all possible, but I just got put on a new shift and it's really limiting my chances of getting out in the woods. I'm pretty much limited to evening hunts for the remainder of the year, which is tough to swallow considering I've always had awful luck hunting in the afternoon.
