Team - Just got back in town. I had 2 chances - no shots. One of which was a total giant. I'm back after them on sunday. OMG... I'm still shaking. Footage should be on BHOD.
Beauty Boof! I'm in so. Ohio right now, today is day 3. It's been frustrating coming onto a new lease with a bunch of guys that have been here for years and have their places, every time you want to go somewhere, you get a "yeah I've got a stand right there, I'm gonna sit that this afternoon" or something along those lines. We did put together a really nice looking set on a flat at the end of really steep finger this afternoon, the place is all tore up. Set a stand and went to try to find another location for my dad. When all was done we were so sweated up we didn't bother to try to sit this afternoon. One of the guys put an arrow in a good buck last night and never found it, another guy killed at 130" 8pt this morning. They're definitely starting to move but the 70* highs have hurt. Got all week to figure it out!
Got within about 75 yards of a 160" ten tonight that was chasing does from 330 till, he's probably still running. Sat about 10 hours today and will be out in the morning.
Put a doe on the ground this morning, I have pics, they're not beautiful but they're score-able. Starting to get this place figured out. 3 more days to get it done. Good luck everyone! I'll post to the score card later tonight.
Watched two coyotes hunt mice together this morning and saw two small bucks and two does. Tonight I ended up seeing five deer no big ones today. Watched a spike buck dogging a 80 pound yearling doe which was comical. Will be back at it in the am. Congrats on the doe drivetacks.
Congrats on the doe drivetracks and awesome buck boof. This past weekend was youth weekend here in Tennessee so haven't been out in a bit. I'm going to check my trailcam after work tomorrow and have a three day weekend starting Friday so I will be hitting it pretty hard this weekend. So maybe I can get something on the ground. Well i thought I'd share the two bucks I had within 20 yards last weekend. Buck #1 (I'm calling him Pirate - since he may be blind in one eye) Halloween night I was at full draw and this buck need to take 1 step... literally. (name tbd) all these guys are MN. Not sure what my Wisconsin spot will bring!
I got skunked this morning, but tonight was non-stop action. Saw 6 different bucks chasing, four of them were small and two were in that 115" to 120" range. Will be back out in the morning. Nice bucks Neal.
