In and set early for once. Had one doe on camera at midnight last night. We'll hunt til 9, then we need to sneak out so Nick can hit the road.
Had deer walking around all morning before light. Think at least one may have bedded. Might try to call a bit here soon.
Looks like tomorrow might be the first sunlight in over a week! I'm pretty excited I'm planning to head out in the AM. Going to hunt in the corner of the old Killing Pond like I did on Oct 13th. I might bring a decoy along too for something different. Winds will be SW, blowing my scent down the channel.
Also getting excited for Weds AM. Going to try and hunt that last stand Nick and I hunted in the North Shore. The winds that morning are supposed to switch to the SE, and that's great for that stand I've been messing with DeerLab.com the last few weeks and I'm digging it. Here's the breakdown of wind direction for all that trail camera's sightings.
Beautiful calm morning. Skies are clear enough to make out Orion, and the moon is lighting my way across the lake. It is a good day.
Don't know whether to be excited or pissed. Jumped a buck on the way in 70 yards from my stand. I was about 20 from him when he busted. Was definitely rutted up. He stunk!
Decoy. Just had to go stand the damn thing back up. If it falls again I'll let it be a decoy for a wolf instead of a buck.
