Can you explain what you used, how long and what knot you tied? Just curious

I used about a 7ft rope and tied overhand loop knots on both ends. I then took off the bottom hardware on my LW stand and slid both up above the bottom stick then put the stick back together, this lets the loop hang out a little further from the tree.

Then I used paracord and did a cobra weave along about 10 inches of the loop where my step will go in order to stiffen it up.

I just did this today, worked well in my backyard but haven't hunted with it yet.

Mine have a double step on the bottom. I ended up tying thru the holes in the outer edges and added a smaller diameter piece of garden hose as the step. I just used 550 instead of rope because it has a high enough working load rating to do just fine. I was just curious as to what other people have used for a knot. I'm impressed with how well it does and how much higher you can start the first step. Shouldn't have a problem gaining 3-4 more feet

With a double step I would just make it one big loop using an overhand knot. I probably could've saved a little weight with something smaller than the rope I used but it's pretty light as-is.

I originally planned and bought a multi step climbing etrier but I don't trust being able to get my big cold weather boots in the steps coming down in the dark. I don't think the single loop/step will be a problem.

I don't use a single loop. I use. 5 foot Aider that I attach to the second step on the first stick I put up. I place the stick as high I possible. The Aider is a lack diamond, a carabiner is what u use to attach it to the stick along with the second safely loop that is webbed in.

Yeah they make it look easier in that video than I think it is. I've seen that before too.

The single loop should work just fine!
