Hey Froman you still get 4 mass measurements on each side I believe.

I was just about to post the same. You should have 15 total measurements for your deer.

    4 G's
    2 beams
    1 spread
    8 mass.

For his left side 3 mass measurements will be the same number, 1/2 way between his G1 and tip of the main beam

Looking to hit the stand on Friday morning. Things are starting to ramp up here and a cold front is inbound.
I'll be in Ohio hunting Nov. 6th through the 10th and in between, hitting my spots around home.

Finally got the opportunity to harvest a doe on film last night. 5th self filmed bow kill in a year. Awesome quick hunt. [IMG][IMG]

    Good hunt!

Made it out Friday morning for my only hunt of the weekend and took a doe. 50 more points for the good guys!
I have her posted to the scoring thread already.

Of the 12 deer I saw, 5 were bucks, 4 1.5 yo an this nice 2.5 yo 10 pt. He was also on my cam on Wednesday night about 3/4 of a mile from this encounter. Looking forward to what he may become in another couple years.

This buck showed up on my camera on Sunday. He's more along the lines of what my minimum target buck might be. I typically target the top 10% of the bucks in my neighborhood and so far, he's in that category. That may change as my observations increase.

I'll be back out for 5 straight days here in Michigan starting this Friday-Tuesday and then heading to southern Ohio the 6-10 of November.

Shoot straight and enjoy "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!" 8-)

    Hey team!
Had my trip to Ohio cut short last week when I got the call that my father was failing fast from his Lukemia, he lives in Idaho.
I left southern Ohio on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., drove 6.5 hrs home, packed a bag and was on my way to Idaho with my BIL and 3 of my 6 sisters. We drove straight through, 29 hrs and arrived on Tues morning at 3:00 a.m.
Lots of emotions and family dynamics in play as well as the fact that it was the first time in 43 years that all of us kids have been together, it was my Dad's last request that we all come together while he could enjoy it rather than at his funeral. He's under hospice care now in his final run.
We left there at 6:15 a.m. Friday and drove straight through and arrived at 10:30 Saturday morning. I hadn't had time to set up a pop up blind for my step dad at my place so I spent a couple hours cutting a trail, raking it, and flagging it so he could enter easily and quietly on Sunday morning. He took a nice doe opening morning.
I hunted until noon on the opener, my usual routine, before heading home our get our local Eaton County buck pole organized. I was understandably a little behind with that as well but it came off fine with some nice bucks checked in.
My BIL, after dropping me off Saturday morning, drove home to Gaylord (3 hrs) dropped off my sister, loaded his hunting gear and drove back to my place (another 3 hrs). He was rewarded with a dandy 10 pt at 4:10 p.m. on the opener out of my most productive stand. Since 2006 this stand has produced (2) 160's, 150, 140, 134, and a 120", it's just 11 acres 2015 Mark buck and me.jpg .
My life is about to get very complicated with my Father's situation as well as the news that my Mother, who is rehabbing, will need 24 hour assistance when she is released a week from today. My step father is a saint but caring for my Mom 24/7 is taxing him. I'll be splitting my residency indefinitely in the near future.
Enjoy your time afield, life happens!

    T

Eaton so sorry to hear about your situation. I've been there through the failing health of a parent. It's not easy.

Tim, that thing looks like a cow! What a doe. Did you happen to get a weight on it?
