Think I'll be out this weekend. Still not expecting much from my small Illinois property, but it's getting to be that time of year.
finally seen some deer Saturday had a mature doe at 30 yards just didn't have a clear shot the way she came in then a little spike in the morning for the evening sit had two coming in couldnt tell what they was but the guy on the neighboring property decided to do some target practice with an automatic rifle and they drifted off away from me will be back out Saturday maybe I will have some luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well the moose hunt is winding down, did call in a young bull on Monday but he never presented a shot, cover was too thick to even sneak a bullet in. One more day then I can start to think about deer full time! Headed to Ohio a week from Friday!

I'll be hunting Pike County tomorrow and Sunday. On Wednesday I'll be heading back to South Dakota and hunting evenings until the weekend. The weather doesn't look great, but my stands at home have remained largely untouched this fall. I'm liking my odds of one messing up.

Buck was kinda quartering away so I aimed right behind the ribs and shot, spitfire maxx did an amazing job,went thru the guts, liver, lung, heart and didnt get full penetration because of the shoulder. Found the buck, he ran about 30 yards and piled up. Turned out to be a decent 6 point. Biggest buck killed in our hunting club in 3 years!
Not sure yet. Will take him to the taxidermy today to get a european mount and get him scored as well.
Congrats Doe Patrol, Don't forget two pics with you, the deer and the bow. I goose hunted over the weekend. This Saturday will kick off 9 days in a row of bowhunting for me. I have only hunted 2 Saturdays so far and hope the little pressure helps. Good luck guys. Its about that time.
