Had plans to hunt the river bottom this morning but couldn't get going.. Had a late night at ER last night waiting to find out if a family member was going to be OK. Niece hit a tree head on swerving to miss a deer. She has 6 broken vertebrae in her neck and back and a bad facial laceration. No spinal damage, Doc says she will be OK though..

Going to give it a go this evening now.

Rocky be careful out there... us gimpy guys need to take all the precautions we can to make sure we get the opportunity to hunt another day!

I'll be out this afternoon again. Taking my brother out for his first archery hunt. He's killed deer with black powder before but never archery equipment. Cold front moved in and high of 52 today. Frost warning tonight too.

We took a mini vacation to Gatlinburg this weekend Friday-Sunday so I won't get in the woods until Monday morning. We have a fantastic cold snap coming that I'm pretty excited about.

Behind our motel in Gatlinburg last night. I walked out on our private deck and she was about 10 yards on the other side of the creek. Pretty neat!

Nope.. 60 yards was as close as he got and he was acting spooky. If he had come in to 40 yrds I would have thought about it... If he would have came in to 30 yrds I would have let one fly without thinking. The good thing is he never knew I was there so a good chance I will cross paths with him again I think. Time will tell.

Had the droptine come running of of the corn field they were picking last night full out. He finally stopped when he was 40 yards away, but he was standing quartering to me... 40 is my limit for comfort, but there was no way with that añgle I would even think about taking a shot.. He is impressive... maybe tonight he will slip up.

I hope my season picks up before long. I will be in the stand Tuesday morning and then Thursday-Sunday again. I've had several deer around just can't get one inside of 60 yards. Keep up the good work guys season is still young

    Good To See
You guys are starting to see deer in the daylight,I saw zero last night and checked a couple cams. Had a moose and a 4x4 and a decent Buck which I couldn't tell the size as his head wasn't in the picture, but his body was big.

Decided to switch it up this evening and Turkey hunt. Ended up seeing 6 hens. They only came into 47 yards according to the range finder. Just did,not want mess those birds pattern up. They are money right now every evening at 5:30...

Wednesday our gun season comes in and I have a craving for wild Turkey for Thanksgiving:)

Ended up seeing 5 separate deer for sure. 3 of them were bucks, all 2.5 yo's or less. Had excellent movement up until 11 and I had to get out to go to work. Was checking a camera and had a 1.5 year old buck walk right up on me at 20 yards. It's the best morning I've had this year. It was better than the morning I killed the doe.

It's dropping to 35 again tonight and I have a good wind. I can hunt in the morning before work. I'm off Wednesday and I'm running the camera Thursday for my buddy
