I not sure who else has a Trophyless Ridge Revolution but what a POS!!! My son is on his second one in 8 hunts the plastic rest keeps breaking. Now We are in the prime of the season and I'm trying to get his bow set up again. They could send me a case of free product and I would send it back!!! Sorry for the rant
I had the revolution 2 and it was probably the best rest I've owned until the bow I had it on was stolen. Thinking about going with it again but leaning towards the carbon apache or the smack down pro.
May want to consider operator error or that it's not set up correctly. I've had nothing but good products from Trophy ridge. Sorry for your experience it sounds frustrating.
Perhaps a sturdier rest as well as your son learning to be more careful with the equipment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have read a lot of complaints about that rest. A few members here commented once on a thread. I think it was Matt/TN who said his shop stopped selling them due to breaking.
blew up my first one on the third shot, installation error on my part. TR had a new one on my doorstep 2 days later, I followed the directions closer this round, maybe watched some youtube installation vids (?) 2 years and 2 kills later it is still functioning great on what is now my backup bow.
I've used the Cypher 5 sight for the past few years. I can't wait to get rid of it. It's all plastic and the pins are junk.
I've had 2 Trophy Ridge sights and they have been great. I use a QAD Ultra rest though so can't help with the TR rest. Maybe there is a quirk a shop could help with if you are installing yourself? Good luck in the future. Love my QAD!
I had just bought the Trophy Ridge HX. I had it on my bow for a week, before I took it back to Cabelas. I had it tuned perfect, but after over 100 shots in a week of putting it through the paces I started noticing vane contact. Paper tuned again, and a few would be perfect, then one every so often would give an odd tear. It finally just quit dropping every few shots. TR would have sent me a replacement, but I didn't have time to wait on shipping, and honestly didn't want another. Ended up with a NAP Apache and it has been flawless to this point. Used to be a big fan of TR rests. I had a Dropzone on my Switchback for years, so I was excited to try out the HX...disappointed to say the least.
Had mine installed by the store. Several weeks later the plastic arm unit split at the pivot point. They were gracious enough to replace it free of charge. Yesterday that rest broke. The rear hook that fits over the top of the arrow broke off, so I can still shoot if I hold the arrow on with my finger as I draw..... Think next time will be something else, don't know just what.
The revolution series of rests have been discontinued. I always thought they looked neat in theory but not so much in implementation. Apparently Trophy Ridge decided the same thing. They have 2 models of vertical drop mechanical, one prong type, and several models of the tried and true whisker biscuit listed on their Web site currently. A poor experience with one product is no reason to label the entire company as junk.
The newer version (2.0) is much better. It's a great idea, but in my humble opinion, I think there are better options out there at that price point. I would much rather have the NAP Apache for around the same price, even though it doesn't hold the arrow in the "up" position. So far, I've been a fan of the Trophy Ridge HX with the little bit of time I have spent with them.
