I meant going in and out all the time. Sneak in and hunt and sneak back out. I was doing the same stuff as you to a small piece of property I have up by paddock lake and didn't see much until 3 years ago. Now because I only hunt it i'm seeing more and more deer.

Heading out to the family farm this am. Will be the first sit in the stand I shot my piebald buck out of last year. High hopes... got the right wind it should produce some action. There are 3 really good 10"s running the farm all are 130 class or better all :)

    Disappointing day.

Had a nice buck feeding on acorns on a little bench above me and a favorable wind.

The wind stopped an the thermals did the rest.

Guess it will be a while before I hunt it again :busted:

I'm giving it a go tonight. Weather app says it is still 95 and the wind is supposed to switch at primetime. I'm hoping a doe will wander by but you never know.

When they said the wind was going to switch, they weren't kidding. I had a doe with a couple fawns heading my. All of a sudden the doe puts her ears up and up goes the the tail. 10 seconds later the wind hits. 35 to 40 out of the northwest. I stuck around for a few minutes but gave up a few minutes before the end of shooting light. Overall it was a great day though. I saw 7 deer tonight plus a couple more when I was pheasant hunting this afternoon. No pheasants but it was a good learning day for my nephew, he is 12 and this is his first year.

WHAT A CRAPPY WEEK. I hunted Wed- sunday and well I didn't get it done. Nothing was in range for me but I still have high hopes for the season. Sorry for the small post's but the wife and baby have been keeping me busy. I have a week and a half off in november just before gun season

If you were able to hunt Wednesday through Sunday and you had a crappy week, you're doing it wrong. :poke:

Agreed! That's more days than I've hunted all year and we opened early September!

Finally saw three doe on my Saturday night sit. Turned left on the trail rather than straight and winded me before heading over to the neighbors. At least I finally saw some.
