Rain washed all of the blood away, and we searched for over 2 1/2 hrs. Grid searched too

I would have to agree with Tim on that one. To me that looks like you may have hit her a little back, but if you are seeing bubbles, chances are you got some lungs. Best of luck finding her! Keep us updated. I didn't hunt last night, but I did hunt Wednesday. I passed a small 8 pointer, and saw some does. I'm actually headed up to our lease in Jo Daviess county IL, for youth season. We did a lot of work up there between food plots and other things. It will be nice to get out with the gun, even though it won't count for anything. Good luck Andrew, along with anyone else hunting this weekend.

With the mom and new baby all settled in I decided to hit the woods again in hopes of seeing my hitlister. Decided I would take one of my fellow golf pros who just started hunting last year, this will be his first ever bow hunt. Put him in a great spot where I see plenty of deer, at least if he didn't get a shot he would see activity. Just got a text from him saying buck down! He said it was small, which neither of us care as its his first ever deer let alone buck with a bow. I'm super pumped, now I hope it's my chance!

I'm taking the weekend off. Wram temps and youth hunt. This had been the slowest most unproductive early season ever for me personally. I'm holding out hope for the rut though!

I hear you. I just haven't been seeing much of anything. I've had one opportunity on a small buck. I'm afraid when a shooter doe comes in I'm going to come unglued! Heading back to the public ground tomorrow when I get off work for a few days. Persistence and patient is what has always worked for me. Good luck!

Guys I never found that buck. Not sure where he went. Based on the looks of the arrow he is dead somewhere which stinks. Also when I was looking for him I found one of my hit list bucks dead. Probably ehd. Its been a bad week of hunting for me. I'm going to regroup and get back after it. I'm not going to let this bad experience ruin my season. I have the whole rut ahead of me.

He was in the process of shedding his velvet when he died. Bases were 5.5 inches and the g2's were between 11.5 and 12 inches. uploadfromtaptalk1444571190094.jpg

Sorry to hear about all the bad luck. Getting back out there is the best thing you can do. The rut is right around the corner! Then you never know what will show up.

That sucks that you didn't find him, but don't let it get you down! Hopefully, you'll get another chance at him. I just got back from our lease, and overall it was a good weekend. Yesterday I passed a nice 8, because can only shoot one more buck this year. He was grunting like crazy for 10 minutes on the ridge, and he sent 8 does down right under my stand. We were shotgun hunting, and he was at 30 yards perfectly broadside. He really temped me, but I resisted. I hunted yesterday afternoon, and this morning and ever saw a deer. With all that aside, I had a great weekend with my dad, and we made some good memories. I'm probably going to hunt tomorrow morning and evening if the wind is good.

Went back out this evening hoping that I'd have a shot at the 12 point I have my eyes on. He showed up just after 7pm, he entered the field to my right at about 115 yards, made his way down the opposite sides edge and got to 55 yards then had other plans. I watched him till dark as he walked out of the field at the top left. Really thought I was going to get a chance at him tonight, buck 1 me 0!
