Finny, you are getting into fantastic shape! 27 pull ups...that ain't no joke. Those lumberjack workouts outside is exactly what you need going into camp. Awesome stuff.

Not exactly sure where to post this but thought I would ask here.

I am dealing with an elbow injury but am not sure what it is... I don't have the best insurance to go get X-Rays/MRI to see if any structural damage is present. Here is what I am dealing with... Whenever I throw a ball I end up getting a very painful lingering pain on the inside of my elbow. It also happens when I am pulling/carrying things as well. It is a shooting pain for a while and then resides after 30 minutes to an hour.

It got better for a long time and I did not have any pain, but now it has resurfaced after I was playing catch and helped load a bunch of tables/chairs for a grad party.

I am worried that something may be torn but I do not recall ever hearing a pop, etc. I know that I need to go in and have it looked at, but I'm just worried that it's going to lead to a whole mess of things I don't want and cant afford.

Tendinitis, aka tennis elbow....rest is the only cure... it sucks as it can take months to go away, but it will go away

I thought that same thing and did some research before... Most everything I read showed "pain or burning on the outer part of your elbow". The pain on my arm feels like the inner part. Say I extend my arm and fingers straight out, the pain feels like it is coming from left inside (or left) part of my elbow.

Rest it is... Hope it doesn't affect my shooting much.

Looks like I have "Golfers Elbow".

I did golf for the first time in a LONG time about 2 weeks back when the pain started up again. Moral of the story... Rest.

Do you think I should hold off on shooting my bow?

I made a re-commitment to my lifestyle and health this past December. I started running and really watching what I eat. I am an exercise physiologist so I have always been good shape as I practice what I preach. In December I was 212 and 20% BF so I started running and biking and continued my lifting but switched to more of a Cross Fit routine. I have ran 2 5k's and 2 10k's and completed the Murph Challenge in April and May. I have finished no worse than 36th any of the races. Training for 31 Heros WOD and couple 5k's also gonna run the Navy 5-miler in Sept. in Washington DC

I am now down to 171 lbs and 9% BF. I feel the best I have felt since playing football in college 14 years ago.

I cant wait to see how the results show during deer season.

Say I don't have one of those devices they are using in the video... A rolled up towel should work the same way right?

Resurrecting this old thread to post my pics.

On January 1st i weighted 235, and was pretty much miserable. The people on here who have met me know that i used to be skinny, real skinny.

I went on a low carb diet and starting lifting 3-4 times a week. Did some moderate to light cardio once or twice a week as well. By April i was down to 183 and ive been maintaining that ever since. Life is so much better.

Good work dude. Having all that crap weight off must feel nice. That isn't easy at all.

I've pretty much completely switched up my workouts to HIT type training. I'm down about 5 lbs in the past 3 months. Gaining muscle and losing fat. Feels better than running and it has been saving my knees?

    Busch Light is NOT beer.

Good for you. Keep it off because you will never lose weight that quickly when you get older, no matter how hard you work at it.

I'm getting fat again. Damn kid.

Just too damn hard to get up at 4:30 am to work out. I'm lucky if I get 2 work out in a week.

I try to run daily but with 2 kids its tough sometimes, my problem is that any beer that I like is at least 250 calories.

my old *** and many years of abusing my body has me cycling more and more as my primary form of exercise. started up about 4-5 yrs ago to augment running 'cuz even after a short little 2 mile run my body felt like i'd been in a fight. just beat up and sore... as my cycling distances got longer I ran less and less and my body felt better and better. no knee, ankle, foot, or back pain. and I was able to keep my heart rate up for hours at a time instead of 15-20 minutes. and I didn't feel beat up after a long ride. I need to augment my riding with some light weight training. but first I need football season to end so I can have more than about 10 minutes of free time. I get up at 530a and work then football practice, typically not home until 8p. its a long few months this time of year. with any luck my season ends on Nov 14. cold enough to have to put the bike on a trainer in the basement :P
