Bob that area looks a lot like the stand I am going to hunt this arternoon and the area I have some of my biggest bucks!! Good luck and good on you for creative and smart stand entry maybe one of my favorite things about hunting creating intelligent entery and exit strategy!!
That river was ankle deep after all this rain it's knee deep. Then the back yard is swamp and there's tracks all through it. I just put the stand up today by myself. I used my climbing sticks and screwed in a tree step about 25 feet up then attached a pulley to it and ran a rope down to the ladder stand and pulled it up. It wasn't easy for this old man but I know I could not do it any other way without help. It was an awesome time in the woods! I'm a happy guy!!!
Last sit for a couple weeks team I been at it pretty hard so its time to focus in on some family time I am back at the food plot. There is bound to be a cruising buck in this area no sightings yet but im pretty confident there is things are already calming down wind wize an its a beautiful night in the stand just watching the son fade in the distance. My 180" plus buck G280 just walked past never into a shooting lane. He followed the script he has all year but veered 10 yards off his line and out of my lanes. I was full draw. He never walked into my lane... That might be my only chance played it perfectly. Goooooooood night.
Wow twitch sounds like it was a go these deer just do different things sometimes for different reasons man dont be discouraged if its meant to be you will get another chance. Stay positive bro.
Ahh it's frustrating you just dont get those chances I played it right every hunt so far played them all picture perfect and just unlucky. Also saw a doe and a fawn tonight. Oh well atleast I didnt try and force some impossible shot it was legal shooting light and he was broadside prolly 40 plus I tried to range find it and see but couldnt even see the number in thr finder. Doubt I had a window anywa I was tryin really hard to find a way.!
Why yes I am in a tree stand this evening, not yet but will be shortly. Late start tonight, would love to fill a doe tag so going to a stand and property where I can do just that!

I haven't seen movement at all recently but that's not stopping me from going. I'll be out again on Monday so hopefully something will show up. It's muzzleloader season here in DE so maybe that'll get them moving to me with the bow!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
