how is everyone making out this year? Ive been out 6 times and have only seen three deer and that was one sit, hopefully see some in the morning where are you guys hunting?
I have seen 15 or so deer and killed a nice 8 that weighed 160 on September 15th he was a solid 4 and a half year old be back at them in the AM this is the one I killed a few days earlier.
I've seen a lot of does and young bucks. Nothing I'm gonna shoot yet. I went this afternoon and saw 14 does and no bucks. Maybe this rain will get the bucks moving
I hope something moved somewhere in the state because our whole weekend if not our next few weeks got flooded out in the southeastern part of NC. We can't even get to where we hunt fingers crossed we didn't lose any trail cams 10 inches in two days when it's already wet makes for a muddy mess.
Northern Wake, between Wake Forest and Franklin County here!!!! Hoping to get out soon. I went the second day of the season…. between work, weather and kids football game no time. I have vacation days saved for next week and the last week of October…. perhaps I can sneak come weekend hours in between :p Last year I literally saw TWO deer walking and only a couple road kills. I've seen quite a few this year, mostly fawns but that is a good sign.
I live in the Lowcountry of SC, but my son-in-law accepted the Pastorate of a church in the Seagrove/Robbins area. I went on my first deerhunt of the season up there on the 26th, Youth Day, with my son-in-law and grandson. My grandson shot his first deer, a nice doe, on his first deerhunt. Way to go Andrew! Bill
good job always fun to hear about a youth killing a deer. I also wanted to say that I feel that the state had gone years without helping the hunters but in the past few years they are doing a good job, like with youth day, planting food plots on public land ect.
Seems like there are a few...I'm generally hunting Davidson, Montgomery, Stanley or Randolph counties...if it helps any.
