There is a Management Area about half a mile from my house. It's bow only so it has little pressure. I had never hunted it before or even scouted it and one day I decided to walk in and just hunt. So I found an old logging road and some decent acorns and climbed up. Low and behold I saw 3 does and a little buck. I have hunted all over that Managemnt area including that spot and have not seen a deer since... Tell me how that makes any sense? Lol and that was 2 years ago
That's what this is. Old logging road that runs along a slow moving creek. The banks are swampy on both side with TONS of browse. There were acorns every where and falling like rain where I was. I'm gonna try it in the morning some time. I just don't want to wake up 45 minutes earlier than I usually do to hunt haha.
Unfortunately it's not looking like I'll make it back out until Wednesday. I should be in the stand tonight but I let the girlfriend talk me out of it. ...see what happens when the deer activity is slow?
I need it to cool off some. We still have mid to high 80's every day, with 97% humidity and its miserable trying to hunt in it. Supposed to cool off some next week. It's normally highs in the low 70's by the end of October and lows in the 40's
Ngabowhunter, it doesn't look like they are going to count your doe. If you have two different pics of your other doe that would be great. If not, just make sure you get two different pics of your next doe. BOW, DEER AND YOU!
Yep I got the pm, I am sorry boys, but that one will feed me and my wife for the year, I am buck only right now. But if mid nov. we are in this thing real solid I will take a doe for someone in need. But right now I have 3 bucks on my list I am serious about. 1 is a p&y. Good luck guys
The doe I shot has shown back up. Looks like I hit her on the front edge of her shoulder. Seems like the wound is healing quite nicely. That's a weight off my mind. On another note, looks like I'll be adding a selfie stick to my gear for multiple pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season starts this weekend! Bad news is it's been raining here the past few days and will still be raining on opening day. Just bought a Hawk umbrella - this weekend will be the perfect test for it. Good luck to everyone. Hunt smart.
