Anyone no some secretive public land really close lol, or know of any private that would be willing to let me hunt. Im stationed at Whiteman AFB. All the public seems to be run down, and no luck on talking to the farmers.
    Thanks

I'm not personally familiar with that area, but this is a great tool for trying to locate and scout public land in Missouri. If you don't already have it, download Google Earth(its free), then click on the link below and it should download a file that will open up directly in Google Earth. It's every conservation area in the state all mapped out. It gives you links to the area maps, regulations and the atlas. I use it all the time and found what looks like it could be a hidden gem in my area.

Martha perry is a large public ground up north of whiteman maybe 15 minute drive. It is great for bow season up until youth rifle season. I have hunted it the last 4 years and taken several deer always seem to at least see a few each sit. Shot a 9 pointer out there two years ago and an 8 the year before that both deer scored around 115 not the biggest I saw out there though.

I just went and looked around there tonight, found a nice spot with lots of activity down in a creek bottom, set up the trail cam so hopefully i will have good results. Im way behind this year, i should of been doing all this months ago.

There is lots of public land within an hour of you. Don't neglect the corp of engineers land, Saline Valley, CA, towersites of each county etc.

Lots of CAs around Clinton/Deepwater area, if you have time there are thousands of acres of CA between Osceola and Roscoe, Mo. Osceola is 30 min south of Clinton on 13 Highway, look on Google. These places get little pressure early season until youth hunt. I'm telling you thousands of acres. I'm from Roscoe and Osceola area, big bucks out there lurking along with a ton of turkeys.
