New location, new buck

    This is the first and so far only picture I have of this guy at my new stand location. Hopefully I see more of him.

    I have never scored a deer in my life so I have no clue on age or score. I'd definitely be beyond thrilled with him though!

    Nice buck! I'm not great at aging but I'd say 2.5ish cause he is just outside the ears

    Great looking rack on that buck! You can't judge a buck by his rack, he could be 2 or 10 years old. Looks like you need to angle your camera down a little, that way you get a better pic of his whole body. That's best way to age a buck from a pic. But for a first deer, that will be a trophy to most hunters!

    Thanks guys. I have since put my new Bushnell on a different tree in the same location so hopefully I can get a better view of him.

    I also noticed that there was a new scrape 10 yards away from my stand in that spot. Is that good or bad?

    This was my hit list buck even though he might be young, until I saw the most recent pics of him with a broken g3. (I think it's the three..not sure which ones are which) Now I'll let him go til next year and hopefully he makes it through rifle season.
