Thoughts on the age of this deer?

I had this buck come in to within 60 yards of my stand last November. That was the first time I had seen him. He's put on some nice growth this year and he is just a beautiful buck. Any thoughts on his age? I'm guessing he's mid 130's.

 

hard to tell with velvet what his mass will be but Im guessing upper 130's. awesome buck though!

I would say he is a 3.5 year old. Heck of a Deer!!

I am terrible at judging age, which is why I asked. Can you take a minute to explain where you come up with your number?

It's hard to say with all that fuzz what he really looks like. Definitely mature though. Shoot em.

 

Maybe this will help. This is him from behind last year.

 

I'd guess he is a solid 3 1/2 year old. Hard to tell for sure though without seeing his whole body and legs in the photo

 

based by looking at his previous years. id say a 3 1/2 and now 4 1/2. i strongly doubt its a 3 now than 4. 5 1/2 was my guess because of the character of its antlers and the size if youre talking midwest whitetails. i had cams of bucks that grew from prevois seasons to now. ive had pics of 100+inch deer at 2 1/2yrs old and at 3 they turn into a 130inch.

 

^^This. He's a healthy 3.5, should be awesome next year if he makes it.

 

I think he would gross in the 140's and is 4 1/2 years old. Would like to see a side angle and more of the left side.

 

I think he's at least 4.5, maybe older. Look at the pic from last year, that ain't no 2 year old.

 

Good Buck man!! 3.5 year old in the 130's maybe. Hard to be sure with this pic though... Good luck going after him!

Thanks everyone for your input. I will upload the other photos I have of him when I get to my computer. I'm in Phoenix right now enjoying the desert heat.
