I checked mine and didnt really have anything on my 4 mock scrapes. I dont know if the deer havent found them or what but there was only one year old buck that walked by one scrape. I refilled them and will give it some more time

Same results here. My deer pictures have went down drastically.

I pulled mine today to let it all air out for the next 29 days

Took almost 2 months for them to start using mine last year but when they did, they wouldn't stop.

Were you refilling them the whole time?

Didn't use a dripper till they started using it. But yes, I kept the forehead gland and the scrape refreshed.

Shoulder high on me, maybe 4 1/2-5 1/2 ft. high at the lowest part of the branch for my preference. Any higher they have to stand up to get to which for a mock scrape is too high IMO.

I wouldn't panic yet...I've also noted less deer hitting a spot where I was getting every deer on the farm...I think it's because they're transitioning out of their summer pattern...its a little early for that, but is the same on several spots on my farm and I didn't have any mock scrapes or scent out. I haven't checked some cams in a month so it wasn't me spooking them. I have to assume they are feeding on something else that's starting in the woods and not coming out to the beans as much. Perhaps an early mast or acorn drop already. Last year I had a big white oak that started dropping in late August then dropped heavy right until the end of September then quit. Every deer I had been getting over my plot and bean field had transitioned over to the oak.

I noticed the white oaks are starting to drop here in NC over the weekend.

Do you guys prefer to use a certain type of tree for your mock scapes or do you just go find a tree

Seems like deer in my area like to scrape under an oak or cherry licking branch...no idea why. I usually try one of those first, but ultimately if it has a branch at the right height it will probably work.

Oak is in my opinion the best to make a mock scrape under. So much that I would recommend cutting an oak branch and tying it into position in places you want to make a mock scrape but don't have one.
