So who's season comes in first? Who will draw first blood, mine starts on 9/11. The last few years I have taken a deer on opening day, shouldn't be to hard to do that again this year.

I'll be hunting Kentucky quite a bit this year. The opener is September 5th. It's a new property for me so I will be going in a bit blind but I'm hoping stumble on a good one early.

9/15 here, I may or may not shoot a doe early. I usually don't kill until I get my oldest child on a deer, then I will punch a doe tag. Pretty safe bet I carry my buck tag till Nov.

    Now if Elk count..... lol

A new property and the first sit is usually your best shot at early season buck, I have gotten a few that way. Last year MD started on the 5th, but they pushed it back a week this year.

Colorado. Why not just hunt a OTC unit?
    That's what I'm doing.

My buddy has a cabin in unit 66 (free place to stay) and I can lease a private 1600 acre ranch at any time that is loaded with elk and deer. It's almost a garenteed you get a elk and mule deer with archery. Most people get tags with 4-5 points, so I should draw next year.

Good luck on your trip, that's a great area. A couple of us talked about going to the next unit over towards Gunnison (it's OTC) and hunt elk, but it's a 45 - 50 minute drive on mountain roads from the cabin. After I get tags for this unit, I may try that on the next hunt.

TN opens late September but will be hunting Fort Campbell early this season, once the stupid biologist decides to actually put out the season date and limits for post.
