I just bought this target yesterday after work. I've only shot 150 arrows threw it and isn't stopping them. I specifically told the guy at scheels that I didn't want a target that will wear out right away because I shoot a lot of arrows. I originally went in the buy a rinehart 18-1 but they didn't have it. So i thought i'd give this one a shot. It's going back tomorrow after work.

Yea that's not good..I would take it back to him and ask for a refund

defiantly get the rhino. Me and my buddy both have one and they are great. Make sure you keep your receipt and register it because they will give you another one if you should through it in a year and you can use broaheads.

I saw one that the guy only shot it with broaheads and its sat outside all the time and was a few years old and the center was only worn about a quarter the way through and it had been shot a lot with broaheads.

I used to work at gander mountain. They don't always honor the online price in the store. Something about they can make the price difference up in shipping. But thanks for the insight guys!

Maybe your suppose to shoot the side??? If you're looking for something inexpensive for just shooting field tips, I'd suggest a bag target. My $20 bag target lasted longer than my Block. Just can't shoot broadheads into them because they won't come out.

The yellow and the white ones won't stop an arrow. If you buy that target get the black one. I had the black hole and it stopped my arrows at over 290 fps

That must be a defective unit. I have at least 500 arrows into mine and it is still stopping them dead in their tracks.

I took the target back today and the guy in the archery department told me to put a ratchet strap around it to tighten it up. I took my money and went to gander and bought the 18:1. They did have it for $199.99 as Sam had pointed out.

So did you end up getting a refund or is all the guy offered was for you to strap it down? Just curious...

All I buy is Rinehart anymore. I have the 18-1 and the rhinoblock.

I do like the Rinehart but the arrows pull out hard. It is definitely stopping them though.

It will get easier once you get a few more in it.

Those black hole targets don't stop much, just something to shoot a broadhead into with a piece of foam behind it really.

You're mostly supposed to shoot the sides w the field tips. I have one of those that I now keep in the back of my jeep for quick sighting sessions, but over the course of 2 seasons it's had probably 1000+ Arrows into it; while it's not in the best shape it's still doing the job. Not the best qual but for $50 I can't complain.

However, any shop that tells you to jerry rig a brand new product you just purchased from them is not one I would ever drop another dime in.

Black Hole targets use to be good targets in the early 2000's. I think they haven't kept up with todays faster, harder hitting bows. Personally, I don't like any layered style targets compared to a Rinehart.

Glendel target I've had for 3 years. Stops arrows dead. I've never had a problem with one. Also price compared to rinehert a bit cheaper.

Same issue with my black hole. a couple hundred arrows and it is now retired. Works fine for the kid's genesis, but not a viable option for my usage.

The Black Hole target is what I've been using for my Muzzy practice blades. I don't EVER shoot field points. I don't hunt with them, so I don't practice with them. It's held up nicely for the last 3 years, but I don't shoot a ton of arrows and I always shoot at the various spots on the target, not just the center bulls eye. Last's much longer this way.
