So we own about 150 acres of agricultural fields and they were sudex and alphalpha, perfect cover for fawns. Seen some vultures soaring in the sky and knew that a fawn probably got whacked by a haybine. Unfortunately, I found 4 dead fawns. All hit by haybines. :( I had actually recorded the one fawn that was killed 2 days prior. Right now there is some more vultures in a different field. Have any of you guys seen this many fawns killed?

That's too bad. Most we've ever hit with our swather was a rabbit here and there.

my buddy has hit one with the discbine and he said it always makes him feel rotten. so would say that most farmers feel bad. they are just so hard to see in the tall grass.

I know a couple get killed every year on a place I hunt when they cut hay. The guys try to be careful, but it's just one of those things that happens. 4 may be a lot depending on population, but if you have a lot of deer 4 might be a drop in the bucket.

I actually miss counted...five were killed. My dad is always like why don't they move! I keep telling him that they hide motionless until the danger moves on. In this case it runs over them.
