Well guys I know it's not a huge Tom or anything but finally managed to harvest a turkey with my bow after many attempts. Nice little 5 inch beard and knobs for spurs. I had shot a tom earlier that morning and we were giving it time before tracking it, so it was my buddies turn to shoot. He was looking for a tom and this jake walked by on the dike at about five yards and I told him to scoot over I wanted to kill it. He dropped as soon as the Hoyt Spyder released the beman ics with the rage extreme on the end image.jpg image(1).jpg

No I felt like it was a good shot and my buddy was about five yards from him and said it looked good. We gave him some time and when we went in to track him I was looking in the pasture and couldn't find my two buddies. I walked back to the truck to grab my phone and was suprised when I saw a sheriff and two other cops from nearby towns. Turns out that somebody saw us walking out with my jake and two avian x decoys and called us in believing that we had harvested too many birds. We decided to go home because we had walked around about two hours and couldn't find him and now somebody called the law on us. Hate leaving without finding the bird, but I guess mistakes and lost animals are part of bowhunting

What does the sheriff and law enforcement have to do with hunting? Wouldn't the game commission handle game violations?

Congrats on the jake, too bad about losing the other bird.

I thought about making a big deal about how only game warden can check my licenses and tags but I had everything in line and just wanted to go on about my dad so I showed them all my permits and hunting license
