10 to 20 yards depending on tree, cover, prevailing winds, moon phase, sun spot activity, barometric pressure, humidity, celestrial alignment, hunting pressure, deer education, whether Kanye and Kim have an east, west or south, etc. Ahhhh, you get the picture. I do kind of obsess about stand placement. ;)

It all depends on the terrain and elavation of the area in your state. To me id be 20yds away from the funnel. But if there too much brush. As a bowhunter like myself. You cant wack an arrow through it. And if you hang by the hills that they climb up your way. They can see you. But if you move back to the flat part of the top hill thell not notice anything funny. Sometimes if there no mature trees and theres one good tree thats 15yds away from the funnel that they travel. Thats your only place to hang. But i dont recomend being closer than 15 yds from the funnel.

Depends. Preferably 15-20 yards. I do have one stand where a trail runs within about 5 yards of the tree. Not ideal so I brushed in that side with cedar clippings and burlap. I've had deer walk within 5 yards and have no clue I'm there.

At least 5 miles into the thick stuff with no cut path getting to it or it will get stolen in 2 seconds.

This is what I do . I like to be high up 20-25
Don't like the steep angle when they are close

I usually look for a tree about 20 yards off. But no closer than 10. I'm not shy about being up to 30 off just because it seems more often than not the deer don't necessarily follow the trails in my woods religiously. There is a lot of acorns and more often then not they kind of wander through feeding as they go. A lot of times its a crapshoot to see which side of the trail they will feed on in a particular day.
