Private ranch sounds great. Good to know a few locals! Will you go in the draw or wait for leftovers? Very good draw odds for 38 as far as I can tell.

I bought a preference point last year so im entering the draw. The land is owned by a client of a good friend.

Thanks. The biggest question I have is what are the odds of taking one with a bow? Do people have any luck stalking them as opposed to sitting on a water hole?

Spot and stalk is a game of patience, skill, and luck... Impossible to put blanket odds on something. On good land it's doable by nearly anyone with enough chances. If you've hunted that way before the odds skyrocket over a first timer learning the ropes.

If killing one is the most important part, sit waterholes. If how you hunt is the most important part, get out and stalk realizing you may not get one.

Great post, thanks tembry. For me stalking is the way I hunt. I plan to stalk and just hope the experience I have stalking deer will help me kill a pronghorn.

Hey guys I know I'm late to the party but I do have extensive knowledge of a lot of the areas with leftover tags and I'm required by law to know all the regulations and such. I've given a little info to a few guys here ;), by all means I'm here to help. So, ask away.

Thanks for the offer Dubbya. I have just put in for a WY Pronghorn tag. Once I get my results I may get in touch with questions, especially if I don't draw and go for a leftover!

I assume you're rifle hunting those dates correct? I have not hunted in 43, I've hunted in area 38 a lot, which borders it to the East. Definitely some good goats down there if you can fight your way through the private checkerboard or have some private ground to hunt. Did you apply with points?

Congrats. An archery spot-n-stalk antelope is an achievement and pretty cool

I was successful as well...I had far less structure in the terrain I was hunting.

Nice one. Yeah, looks like very open country. How did you get close?

Persistence...took me 4 days to get close enough to one. There's a lot of gullys & washouts. I used those to crawl towards him. Plus he was with an estrous doe so his attention was focused away from me
