I consider myself pretty hard-core when it comes to preventing desecration of our flag, but as I said in the last thread on this topic, an american flag bikini or any other article of clothing is not an actual american flag. It merely has the patterns. It's not a flag though, so while I may feel it's in poor taste, I don't really have a problem with it. As to the photo Tony posted, I have no problem with that at all. I think what the image represents is fantastic. I read the article and the Navy wife photographer would have my full support if she needed it. Some people just arent happy unless they have something to scream about.
I guess this just proves that there is no such thing as 100% consensus on anything. Always going to be some people that complain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is against flag code, but I think that it is an awesome picture, and symbolic of the protection of our country offered by our service men and women. I think anyone finding it offensive is stretching it a bit.
I think it's awesome. It's a violation of the flag code but it's not like most of us don't violate it on some level from time to time. The picture is very tasteful and reverent of the colors. I really like it.
I don't have a problem with it but some people might find that it disrespects the flag which I think that it technically does.
Here is the thing and this isn't just my .02$ but a lot more often you see military spouses wrapped up in a flag for some god awful reason. That is disrespecting it when a grown woman puts her name body on the flag. Her and this baby are completing different. People always have strong opinions about it but until you defend that flag yourself, don't tell someone got to use it that has
No! How would you come up with that idea? Technically, it's a violation of the flag code. But it's not the kind of violation that would get me upset. I think it's kind of cute. Some folks get upset too easily
Um.....did you look at the post before the one you quoted or are you just trying to take what I said out of context to try and make me look bad?
So what does everyone do with those small flags on a wooden dowel that veterans give you when you donate money to them? They pass these same flags out at the 4th of July parades and such.
That is what they were handing out at our local 4th of July 5k race last year. It made me laugh pretty hard.
