After reading all this talk about taxes and were the money goes, seems majority think there flat out paying for welfare and food stamps. If you look at the food stamp program or snap as it is called the usda and other sections fund that and get funding through congress and taxes, now there are vetrans former goverment employees who can't find work but have to depend on aide to get by and provide for there family's so how do you put them in a category as "Parasites". I know we all hate getting taxed my checks come from uncle sam himself and I get taxed royaly but hey thats life.......

I don't think there's anyone out there that doesn't believe some form of assistance is necessary. BUT, all form of assistance were originally meant to be temporary. Unfortunately, we have created a section of our society that feels entitled to the social programs and feel no need to contribute. Those people are why the system is ballooning out of control. Every dime given to someone that hasn't earned it comes out of a taxpayers pocket.

    On a side note:

I think it would depend on what side of the bed you sleep on.

What about the government subsidies that go to farmers? One of the farmers that lives up the road t has received 1.2 MM over the last 10 years and the weenie won't let anyone hunt. Everyone should be able to hunt it, we are paying for it.... In fact.. It should be law... Take free money your ground becomes open to the public. :p

Land is not subsidized, harvested crops are.

The subsidies are there to help offset low prices in order to provide the nation with a reliable supply of food. If you think that they fit in the same category as welfare, you are mistaken.

Considering what it costs to produce a crop, 1.2 m over 10 years is not very much. The food stamp program will waste/loose that much in a month or less.

paying farmers not to grow crops has always bothered me. I don't blame the farmer for taking it though..

on the flip side farmers are starting to plant every available piece of ground in the midwest even the CRP pretty soon there will be no fallow ground...
