There is some good deer in that area. Just not as many deer as is what's in middle & west TN. Sent from my XT830C
Good luck in any decision you make, Kentucky would be my choice. I believe kentucky has one of the earliest opening archery seasons which gives you a shot at a velvet buck.We just got back from Florida on Friday, and it would be easy for me to move there. The snow and cold is getting old.
I know you lol'd, but that doesn't sound like a bad gig to me, but I am not exactly sure what the duties, pay, benies are If you are serious, PM me As far as employment: We are ready to open up a specialty cafe here in NY, but the taxes, politics, and weather have really made us question if we want to do that here, committing ourselves to NY for even longer. We both decided it would be better to move to where we want to finish our lives and open up the cafe there. So I have done many things.. 9 years - Machinist and metal fabrication including CNC Mills, CNC punch presses, brakes, lathes, mills, shears, etc 3 years - Customer Training Consultant. I flew around the country training dealerships on the integrated computer systems that were sold to them by our Salesmen. Responsible for all scheduling, training, software conversions, liaison. 6 Years - Fixed Operations Director for several dealerships 3 years - Mortgage loan Originator for a Broker 7 years - Private Christian School Administrator/Teacher 3 years - Assistant Pastor while I was a School Administrator 10 years - Senior Financial Auditor (Human Services, auditing group homes) Now, please don't all charge me at once with your job offers :D
KY has it all deer , elk , turkey , and all kinds small game as well as good fishing . As stated already weather can be tough .
Good thing you don't have any Midwest states in your list cuz we don't want you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I see you finally realized that the Bills are never going to win so you need a new team. You know you can be a fan of another team without actually moving
As many have discussed already, Kentucky would be the best option. Western Kentucky specifically offers very good deer hunting and the potential for Boone and Crockett quality deer hunting. Public land hunting is readily available as well being very close to Kentucky and Barkley Lake which offers really good fishing. Land prices are very reasonable compared to neighboring states Indiana and Illinois. Good luck with your search!
If your goal is to open a business and your looking at KY I would look at the more urban areas like northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area, lexington, Louisville, bowling green or Paducah. And yes the deer hunting is good and the season is long. Small game seasons are long and there's a lot of variety. If your into ducks western Kentucky is your bet. We have elk but it's a lotto system. I've put in every year but never been drawn. Some guys seen to get drawn regularly?? A few hundred tags issued each year. We recently started bear hunting in the eastern end of the state and the season looks to be expanding. Fishing is good even in the winter when you catch a warm spell. Lots of variety, bass, walleye, trout, musky, catfish etc....
Dear god, there is no hope here. Seriously though if you'd consider financial services or consulting you can pm me. Charlotte could be a tough market for a cafe as there is a culinary school in town that has raised the food service expectations very high in the city, but has a lot of good employers. Ashville likewise on the tough food scene. But you could benefit from your ag side biz especially if you wanted to grow hops-a bit of a booming bet market in Ashville. Dwayne is over toward Raleigh, Matt toward the mountains...line up some folks in TN and KY and maybe consider a road trip... ~Bill
You may have mentioned this already...but what size of town/city are you looking for? My previous job had me traveling all over NC, SC, VA, KY, TN, and GA. I've been to some places that I could live and some that there's not enough money to get me to live in. How important is hunting in this decision? Fishing? Outdoor recreation? Etc
I am a rural boy...so I know I am looking at a commute since I will not live in a city...I may stomach a suburb for awhile. I love to hunt, fish, hike, and small scale farm...I have to have those things in my life ... I would prefer my own property ....
Ok, property prices in WNC are ridiculous...I would venture a guess that mid tenn, ky, or even central NC would be much better priced. Bootlegger lives in a pretty neat place of Tn.
