i want a blind that i can fit 2 people in and have one be able to use a bow. ill be hunting deer a turkeys with it. i also dont want to spend a tone of money, im thinking like 100-150
I bought a Primos The Club XL, it's not Double Bull big but it's big enough and didn't break the bank. Bought it at the local bass pro shops on sale. One thing I wasn't happy with until I used it was the roof opening, on those baking hot days when a ground blind becomes warm enough to bake bread you can partially open it and it cools off dramatically. It's big enough to two adult males or one adult and a few kids. It's also tall enough for a 6'1 or 6'2 guy can stand up in the center and work the kinks out without having to exit the blind. There are a lot better blinds but this one has done well enough for me at the price point I was looking for. I wouldn't pay full price for it though, the sale price was why I bought this one.
Barronet Big Mike XT has plenty of room for two people and the windows are high enough to stand and draw with a bow.
I'll second the Barronet blinds. I have the Bellbottom (its got a larger base and smaller top width).. I am 6'4, so I can't stand up to shoot in it, but can shoot comfortably from a stool with 2 people in it.
I have ASAT reaper blind that I like a like. It lasted a few seasons now, and that more than i can for any other blind i have had. ASAT® Reaper Ground Blind
I have a buddy with a few of the Big Mike XL blinds and he really likes them. I haven't checked them out yet but I am in the market for a blind or two before turkey season arrives so they are on the list to look at.
I must say, If you pick up a Big Mike, make sure you have a relatively high chair, the windows are high.
That is actually a worry of mine with that blind. I looked at once similar to it at Gander the other day and the windows were really high. Thanks for the info!
This past season I really noticed it if my blind wasn't on completely level ground ,good news is my body was covered more.
I've got one of these coming later this year. I like the looks of the window slide. Alps Outdoorz Thicket Hunting Blind
Despite what someone else said the only thing noisy about the ameristep is the dang zippers once inside it's fine I have 6 and at under a $100 each it is a great deal, my wife and I both hunt out of them alone and sometimes together, room for two plus our gear and heater buddy. That being said if you are a real BIG boy you will not want company.:D Also the ameristep is a round top blind which deer get used to much quicker then a flat top blind ie: not as much brushing in is needed..
Ha!!! Thanks! I try to mix it up a bit on public ground. A lot of guys will carry 1 or 2, sometime 3 deeks. I think the birds catch on pretty quick. Also like using a handful of deeks early season when the birds are still bunched up. Pic was from last year. Had a a pair of strutters come in. I missed the first shot right after the bosstom start kicking the crap out of my jake. I gave him a good hair cut with a bullhead. That really pissed him off because he proceeded to smack every decoy within 10 ft. When it was all over there were 4 birds laying in the dirt. On of which was the boss Tom. lol!
I've got the 3/4-strut jake, the breeder and the feeder... thinking about picking up the strutter this year too, though I doubt I'll use it in conjunction with the jake.
I have a Primos Ground Max Vision which I really liked. I left it out a little too long this winter and the snow load/ice snapped one of my poles. Second time this has happened. I would just fix it like before, but there is a tear in the zipper and it came of so there's no easy way to fix that. I'm in the market for and extremely light ground blind. I'm heading out to Wyoming to hunt Antelope and I want to take one along in case I need to set up on a water source.
