I use an 8" B-Stinger Sport Hunter Xtreme stabilizer with a B-Stinger Quick Diconnect which adds about 1.5" to the stabs overall length from the frame of my bow. It has three 1oz weights on the end that I'm still experimenting with. Little or no weight works well for short range, like under 30yrds. More weight helps when I try going out to Cameron Hanes territory, 80yrds and up.
I am wanting to shoot with my quiver on during season. But when I throw that on I really have to consciously torque the bow back to level and if it's windy it makes it really hard. What are some good choices for side stabs that will come off the front stabilization threads. Looked at Carbon core today that seemed pretty neat but the shop didn't have much in the side stab category.
I switched to a 6" B-Stinger last season and am happy with it. I may get some extra weights this year to experiment with balance. I have no idea how a B-Stinger is not good for hunting because its too heavy and too long. That statement is ridiculous. Todays stabilizers aren't really about noise reduction anymore. Modern bows are so quiet out of the box that you don't see the significant reduction like you used to. Stabilizers today, IMO, are doing what they originally were designed for, stabilizing and balance of your bow. My opinion? Get a hunting length stabilizer in the 6-12" range that offers you the most options in terms of adjustability. This usually comes in the form of add on weights, etc. This will allow you to find that sweet spot in your bow and shooting style.
I'm still rocking an Xtreme Archery 10" with a bowjax on the end and adjustable weights. I've never shot a stabilizer for sound dampening in mind. I've always wanted the stabilization.
I shot pretty well without it. Now I shoot and hold so much better its ridiculous. Of I take it off my bow instantly leans way right. Can't shoot without it anymore. Helps when hunting too because I shake like a leaf when I see a deer and this keeps my bow rock solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For the first time ever I didn't use a stabilizer for hunting this year. Got a new Hoyt Faktor 34 last year and couldn't see any difference whatsoever in accuracy or dampening with my hunting setup. My sets are for shooting from 5-30 yards so I don't need to set up for a long range shot.
I Use stokerized stabilizers love em lotsa sizes and colors to choose from really take the shock out of the bow
Talked to the guys from stokerized today at the sportsmans show and I think what I'm gonna do is go to their shop with my bow and try a bunch woth different weight's and bars and find the perfect one for my setup. Thanks for all the replys and help guys
