If I'm doing spot and stalk, I like to have my multi pin sight, in the stand, I like my HHA single pin. When I spot and stalk, I pack light and don't normally have time to hit them with the range finder and also adjust my sight, it's just too much movement.
i have both that i can switch back and forth. but right now i have my spott hog 7 deadly pins on my bow because it was the last sight i sighted in. come fall ill switch it back to my single pin as i dont shoot past 25 yds from an animal when im hunting. i like the single pin because it has an uncluttered view of my target.
5 pin for me. 20 - 30 - 40 - 50 - 60. When you figure out what you want you sould use this app for getting it sighted in once you install. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.NexsysSoftwareSystems.sighttune&hl=en
4 pin here. 20, 30, 40, 50. I found out, while using a single pin, that I'm not very good at judging distance without a range finder. I also don't want to spend the money to buy one. Therefore, having multiple pins allows one to judge approximate distance by how far apart two pins appear on a target.
Used to use multiple pins, but now I'm a single-pin guy all the way. Spot Hogg Hogg Father with a .029 vertical pin and 2x power lens.
I have a three pin sight just because it's what i've always had. What do other people with multi-pin sights set their distances at? Is it worth starting at 10 or 15 yards?
Not really worth starting at 10-15 yards. With the speed out of the bows today you can set your first pin at 20 yards and your good from 0-20. After that you can set your pins to what works best for you. Sent from my iPhone
5 pin with pins set at 20 30 40 45 and 50. Dont plan on shooting an animal past 40 but like to practice farther to boost confidence
5 pin now... set at 20,30,40,50, and ?? (never set the last pin but it's close to 60 I'd guess) looking to change to single pin for next season... along with a new bow (shot the Prime Ion the other day... sweet)
