Just found out today that my son needs braces. My wife has to make the appointment on Monday. Anyone else deal with this recently?

Yep, Reagan had them for about a year and a half or so. She's had them off for about 4 months or so.

12 yr old daughter got them about 4-5 months ago. Not too bad other than adjusting them once a month or so. Expensive but makes me happy she will have a good smile and be happy as a teen.

Yeah braces are not cheap, but look at the bright side. Braces will seem cheap once you see the bill for college tuition.

We are dealing with it right now with my younger son. He's had the work-up a month ago or so and spacers put on a week ago. He goes in tomorrow to have the braces put on. Things are not cheap at all.

I had them when I was early teen. Not horribly pleasant. Had them off for a year with a retainer and dentist said was good to go and shortly after teeth were crap again. Don't think he was too concerned as he relocated just after telling me I was done with the retainer. Had they stayed good I would say they weren't fun but Woulda been worth it. They did straighten them out pretty good, just wish the follow up was better. Decided I'll keep them as is after that

My older daughter just got hers the end of November. Supposed to have them on for 2 1/2 years, but the first checkup he was impressed by how much they had already moved.
