I need to get more Crooked Stave. I need to convince my boss that a couple of our sites in CO need a visit.
Tonight's Beer is a hearty and hefty stout ..75 IBU's ... It's rich, hits you with malt and then finishes with a note of caramel...pretty smooth. Very nice.
I love the yeti! All of its variants are delicious as well! I've cellared some for a year and they only get better. I've got a couple chocolate oak aged yetis that I'm setting back to be drank at the two and three year marks. For a stout that's on the shelves all the time across the Midwest, and is relatively cheap for a bomber it's a tough one to beat.
It's a first for me. I enjoyed it. The thing that marks a good stout in my book is how well the beer holds up through the entire bottle .. The pour to dregs. This held up very well. It's solid. If it's a representation of what they put out..they are decent. This was part of a Stout lovers basket my wife got me for Christmas, it had a dozen bottle stouts, two growler fill up and gift card to the brewery! Super thoughtful gift.
Brandon how'd you like st. Bretta? I couldn't get my hands on it in KC and the northeast has pretty crappy distribution from Colorado breweries. They don't even get new Belgium.
Had a couple beers from a friend's beer of the month club. They were just alright but I wasn't expecting much.
Nicely done NH! Tonight was great! Celebrating my 29th birthday with my folks and wife. Drinking some great beer, sitting by the fire, and getting rigged up for ice fishing tomorrow! Tried Ol' cattywhampus from white birch brewing company in hook sett, NH...it's labeled as a barley wine. But had some amazing vanilla, roasty, chocolate, coffee notes and the 10.5% ABV was well hidden. I also tried a stone face IPA. A newer brewery to pop along the sea past in NH and it was the best IPA or had up here outside of heady, sip of sunshine, and double citra. It was delicious. I also built a set of cusk traps I plan on setting out tomorrow while going after trout and panfish on tip ups and jigging rods through the ice. They turned out great
Went to Binnys and decided to make a 6 pack. Trying out some different stuff. Still figuring out what I like. They got Old Chub now. which I heard was good so I'm excited to try that out. Tried the Big sky IPA and wasn't a fan. I'll try another today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome to Iowa Oskar Blues! What a great addition to our state. I still cant believe how many craft brewers have started distributing here. I guess there are a lot more people that appreciate good beer here than I ever imagined. I also picked up one of my favorites from Michigan.
