How I approach it... When paying with a Card I usually tip $3-4 on a $12-18 haircut depending on what city I'm currently living in... If I pay in Cash they get a $20... I don't like asking for change when it comes out to a few measly bucks.
No tip... heck I don't even have to pay for it. She is a professional and has her own salon. She is my boss's wife but not really a perk of the job. I do a lot of things for her otherwise so she won't take my money when I try to pay. Tim
Used to tip $3-5 bucks back when I got it cut. Been buzzing my own head for 7 years or so. On occasion I'll treat myself to a cut and straight razor cleanup. I usually tip $10-15 for that.
There's an older lady that cuts my hair at the place I go to. She only works on Friday and Saturday. Her husband died a few years ago. A haircut there is $15.00. When she cuts my hair I'll tip her $10.00 and sometimes $15.00. Anyone else and it would be a $5.00 tip if the haircut is good.
Yesterday I got my head buzzed and it is $10...gave a $20 and asked for $5 back. Pretty typical for me is $5
Dang, I've never even heard of giving a tip for a haircut. My wife cuts my hair and I always try to give her more than a tip....
My wife buzzes my head every few weeks, so I just give her my paycheck every Friday..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If you're paying $15 dollars for a 15 minute haircut, the TIP is already included.... I only pay $12 but have my little girls' hair cut, and I do tip that lady $5 for her $24 worth of work (two haircuts), but that includes a shampoo, cutting, drying and styling.... $15 for a barber trim is REALLY HIGH where I'm from.... I don't spend probably $25/year on razors, and haven't paid for a haircut in nearly 20 years, as it would seem ridiculous to try to do anything with the stuff that grows or tries to grow on my head...
