Last year I purchased a Go-Pro hero 3+ black edition to use when bowhunting. I have the sportsman mount for bow, rod, or gun, but it does add significant weight when I already have a heavy bow. Do you guys know of any other good hands free ways of filming my hunts with the Go-Pro? Ive heard good and bad about them, but Im not looking to self film, just a hands free way of capturing the shot on video. Has anyone used a Go-Pro bowhunting before, and is the no zoom a big problem that doesnt allow a good picture? Just want to hear your thoughts and opinions.

If youre hunting out of a climber you could do what i did a few years ago and go to walmart and by the Gorilla pod by Joby. You can wrap the arms of it around the side of the stand and angle it so all you have to do is hit the record button

GoPros are a bit big, have you considered an Epic cam?

I use my GoPro as another angle camera. I usually mount it above my head in the tree and let it film the wide angle over top of me. If the deer are close enough (which usually happens) the GoPro will have them in the video. But if you are looking for a lighter weight option to just film the shot angle, I would look into an Epic cam like Spear said.

Fuse makes a really nice stabilizer with camera built in. It is supposed to record in true dimensions. (Objects are not closer than they appear)

I use the head-band mount. I use the GoPro app to see where the camera is looking so I see what is out in front of my bow. It works pretty good inside 30 yards.

I use a gopro and get nice shots on cam. I have it mounted on the stab with the sportsmans mount. The way to make the video look like 20 yards is not 100 is to change the field of view from "wide" to "narrow" this really brings the video in a lot. Gets rid of the fish eye look too. Try it!!!

    Good idea, didn't know that.

I use mine for second angle footage only, and it works great for that. About getting your shot, I would do what colton suggested first
