Way to go Page and Cunning! Both gorgeous bucks!

Yesterday afternoon I had an encounter with the biggest buck I've seen on stand. I actually wasn't even in a tree, I was on the ground, I made a last second audible to hunt a spot which hold tons of does post rut. I didn't have time to get my climber out, so I brushed myself into a boulder. Around 3:15 I spotted a deer moving towards me, which happened to be roughly a 110" 10pt. I let out a few grunts and while visibly pissed, he just wouldn't come in. I then noticed he had a doe in lock down which he was shadowing. I proceeded to watch this deer for nearly an hour and a half. The closest he came was about 62 yards, even though I practice at 60 all the time, it wasn't a shot I was comfortable with. Even though I haven't put one down yet, I have had some great encounters this year. Keep at it guys, good luck and stay safe.

wait so I need photos with me and the bow? I thought it was just two of the bow and the deer?

I mean...we are fine, I have the entire hunt on film, but I don't have any photos of me and the deer and my bow all together.

You'll be fine if you got film, either screen capture two angles with you w/bow and buck or post the video. You'll be golden!

I believe if you have the hunt and recovery on video you should be good. I would recommend adding the video to the entry and let Fitz determine the eligibility, for both the buck and doe.

Awesome stuff everyone. Keep it coming!

I harvested a doe during rifle season in WI, still have a few more archery hunts planned for December and January. Will keep you posted.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.

The does have started grouping up now. I lost count at 10 does on tonight's sit but they skirted me on a different trail then what I was set up for. Only a matter of time to get one on the ground now.

    From the contest entry thread

Post the video, it will count.

    From the rules

3a.*If you harvest the deer on film and can provide footage of you shooting the animal along with post-recovery footage including hunting, animal, and bow, that will suffice in place of two photos. Footage must be posted online for everyone to see.

Also, if you have the same for your doe post it as well. Worst case scenario he says it doesn't have the required elements. It's better than not trying at all

Apologies to Cunningham. For some reason some of the videos posted in user posts don't show on my phone, looks like you entered one on the post I quoted above.

Anyhow, Fitz has requested the date and time to make it valid. I'll have to log on to the computer when I get home and check it out.

    Sorry for the confusion

I'd definitely post it up, looks like it has hunter, bow and clear recovery to me.

What a wild sequence that was. Great learning experience on how they react with different shots. Shows just how easily they can be pushed by not waiting them out and going in too soon.

    Awesome stuff
