Oh no, bummer JZ! He was a great deer and what a jump he made!!! Really hope STD makes it and you get a crack at him!
Not yet. As of last Saturday he was still alive and on his feet. He simply moved out of our area once November came. He seems to have traveled 1/2 mile or so to our East and is working a group of does over there. I think our last pic of him was middle of the night on 11/5 and before that was right before Halloween. I'm pretty sure once the rut winds down if he's still alive he'll start moving back into his core area, which is exactly what he did last year.
I hunt this same farm, I can assure there are no mineral sites there. It's simply a good pocket of genetics in one of the best deer counties in the Midwest.
Thanks for the update on Baconator Justin, I'm happy to learn he was still alive as of the 5th. I'm hoping that's the same thing that happened to my #1 buck this year too. He disappeared back in October but I fear he's in someone's freezer instead of on another farm. Last time I had mine on cam was on the 14th of october I think. I'm surprised you guys don't put mineral out but come to think of it I don't recall mention of mineral in any of the webisodes.
I hope they make it through your gun season. I'm really concerned that many of the bucks we have pics of and we have passed will die this weekend. It's our gun season opener.
Great bucks JZ...I'll be heading out tomorrow and may even throw on some orange this weekend at a last ditch effort. My time is quickly dwindling as well.
