Lots of seeking & chasing tonight, but nothing worth shooting, still a productive hunt. Going to be sitting in a bedding area in the a.m. tryin to make it happen. A.M. weather forecast: Partly sunny, 18 degrees @7am, winds NW @ 0-5 & a chance of flurries. Im psyched to get at it.
Whats up yall, its been kinda slow on our team thread here. Hope everyone is still out hunting or has plans to get out in the near future. As for me, its time for a hiatus over the next couple of weeks. I put my best effort in so far this season, but with too many missed opportunities. Im still kicking myself for missing a 40 yard shot at Tallboy & I let to many smaller bucks walk in hopes of arrowing a giant during the rut & pre rut, but that's bowhunting for ya. Ill be back at it hard in December in hopes to get a post rut buck & might even luck out & get a couple hours on stand between now & then, but for the most part Ill be sidelined for a few weeks. As for the scorecard, we're doing pretty good & with a couple more good bucks we can definitely take this thing. If you go to the very first post of this thread you can check out our team scorecard that I put together & see just how well we've done so far. Keep up the great work fellas. Well after 250+ hours in the stand this year I let an arrow fly on a nice public land buck. This is the same deer I passed earlier in the season. I guess he just looked bigger today when he walked right under me. As seen in the pics the rage opened him up pretty good. He came in grunting and stopped 11 yards from the tree I was in. Quartered to me was my only shot as he was about to bust me. Ran about 125 yards.
Yea not sure what I will do about the score. I forgot and sent him to the taxi before getting him measured. I guess I can have the taxi send me some numbers.
