Here is a few pics from my trip. My son with his first swan. It was 90 degrees when we left here and on this morning it was 22. We froze our butts off! Me and him with the groups ducks. One tired duck dog. She didn't even want to get out of the truck. My dad, my son and my nephew. The only thing keeping my going after 5-6 days.LOL. Me and Kota. I'm damn proud of her and how she did for being 19 months old.
Bump. Been a great opening season for me so far. Our opener was Nov 1. We had our 3 man limit by 8am. Have had a few solo hunts also Then the front we have been waiting for got here this morning. Another 3 man limit by 830.
Nice. The season just opened up again for us here in WV. My father has been killing a few. I Won't be able to make it with the new job an plans for Saturday. H
Our season doesn't start until the 22nd and im in SC which is not a very good duck state. My favorite quote "You know you're hunting in South Carolina when a bunch of ducks come in and you kill both of them". That about sums it up here, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
I'm heading over to the Eastern shore of MD on Friday to duck hunt for two days. Our second split just came in on Saturday for 3 weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We've been doing pretty well so far these first two weeks, even though the area had not and the duck numbers are nowhere near the average for this time in the season. Got a nice little push of mallards the last couple days with this front, though. Here's a couple of our off-season videos.
My dad and another buddy killed 9 ducks Monday. Dad killed 2 yesterday and took a break today. I won't see any water fowling until december
To say this year was a terrible season for waterfowl is an extreme understatement. I honestly don't have the words to explain how bad it was/is. Our duck season goes til December 6th and goose til January but every single small body of water is locked up and damn near every large one is 1/2 - 3/4 froze over.
Im thinking we are right at 100 ducks so far this season. I have to add it up for sure. If only I didnt have to go to work for 3 months..... It's definitely been a good start to the season.
Farmer finally cut the corn field. The only problem is since its cold here the geese are on water trying to keep it open. Just need the geese U.P. to start coming down.
Did pretty well the other morning. Should have done a lot better but can't complain. It was a great hunt and fun to watch the birds work. The geese locked on and went right in. The ducks took more convincing but some wandered a little too far from the pond we were hunting next to and found their way in front of our guns. I was also able to get a few calls made last week while I was on vacation. Here's the latest camo call. Huge fan of this material.
Last Friday from Eastern shore of MD- 3 of us. 3 Black ducks, 3 Gadwall, 1 Bufflehead, 2 Hoodies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd love to kill a black duck. I've never even seen one in OK. Only know of one person that's ever killed one.
Man I wish our season was open. We are covered up in ducks and our season doesn't start till the 27th. What isn't froze now will be locked up tonight.
