I'm setting in the stand this evening and the deer movement is great. Had a small 8 chasing some does around in the brush and a big 8 right in front of me that would be a for sure shooter if it wasn't so young. Right before dark some more deer start to come in and one looks really good but I can't get a good look at it. All of a sudden a hog runs up and runs everything off and of course the hunt is over when a big boar comes into the picture. It's so frustrating when the hunt is looking promising and a hog comes and ruins it.

We don't have hogs up here....Can't you just shoot them? That's a for sure way to stop them from coming around.

Sitting in a different stand this morning and I'll be damned if a hog hasn't already ran off 2 does here this is getting ridiculous. Luckily the hog left too and it's still early

I feel fortunate that I don't have hogs or wolves to wreck my hunting

Yeah I like them around February when there is nothing else to hunt. I guess you gotta take the good with the bad.

Better a boar than a careless hunter walking into his stand at almost 8 am blowing all your deer out. Especially bad when they park right next to you.

I wish we had hogs up here to shoot! And definitely ruined my morning. Happens every weekend. The weekend hunters come out last minute and ruin it all. After a 12 hr shift at work, off at 6am and straight to the field, it is extremely frustrating.

I will gladly apologize for those guys since I used to be one. That's changed now that I have a 3-4 rotating shift, so I'm right there with you on the twelve hr shifts.

OP, that sucks about the hogs scarin off the deer. Only thing that I know that stops pigs is killin them. Good luck to you!

It's not them coming to the woods or hunting along with me that upsets me. It the showing up at 8 am when I got to the field at 6:30. Shooting light is at 6:50 right now. Show up on time or don't don't come trampling thru the woods. It's not gun season. Shooting deer across the 100 yds cut bean field is not an option.

Yeah luckily I'm hunting on a 5,000 acre private ranch so chances of another hunter coming up are slim but you never know. I guess I take for granted the hogs. Yeah sometimes they run deer off but at the end of the day the are still a source of food and I maybe shouldn't be too mad at them.

Yea them big boars aren't very good eating either so if I'm deer hunting I usually try and gut shoot them hoping they get pretty far away from the stand before they die that way they don't leave their stinch close and I don't have to haul them off
