***OFFICIAL 2014 Live from the Stand Thread!!***

Put my buddy in the stand I shot my big 10 out of Tuesday. I'm across the road looking for a nice doe at mom's request.

 

Sitting over one of my plots again tonight.

 

It has arrived, traded 5 am wake up for 2:30 but it's worth it.


Weather still looks perfect tomorrow.

 

I've got 8 more hours of work then 9 days off. So hard not to call out tomorrow.

 

Man I wish I had my vacation still I had to with draw all of it to work cause my partner ended up quiting the job... f ing d face... so the only chance I get to go out are sundays which have always sucked weather wise and maybe an afternoon or so.

 

Slow afternoon again. Was so pumped for this season after last year. So far, this is the worst in the 8 years we've been hunting this farm. But, we'll keep trying. Going to try and pull an all day tomorrow and see what happens.

 

Sup boys!!!!! Didn't see a single deer today. BBD day is tomorrow for me!!!

Fri-Sun bucks will fall in the northeast. Temps are starting to drop rapidly and the best days of the rut are upon us! High hopes the next two days. I cant wait to be in a stand.

 

Gear is cleaned and packed. Hitting it hard all day tomorrow. Now if only I could sleep.

 

And so it begins, sheesh bars aren't even closed yet and I'm up and at 'em

Well its 6:00 just settled into the stan suns just starting to light up the area... goodluck to all out this morning. ..

 

I know right bright as hell... didnt even need a flashlight

 

Based on the bucks I saw moving from my afternoon bus route yesterday, they are moving strong in Central, IL and today should be perfect. No school today, then football all day on Saturday, then Sunday-Tuesday is all hunting (with some church). I have shot or had an encounter with a Big Buck on this day for the past five years. So today....I pray that the Lord gives me a chance at a beast....but I will take whatever he sends my way. Heading out right now!

 

First sit in the lone wolf. Winds are calm, maybe a bit too calm.

Had a deer blowing at me as I got to stand. Not deterred at all by it. Only one lone doe in a field that I could see on the way here. Looks like 100% of all crops out. Sitting over some acorns with high optimism.

Hearing some cattle out in the cut field to the north. Hopefully they'll help detour a few my way.

 

Still dark here. I like that moon saw deer moving between 11 and 3 pm yesterday. 5 yrs ago today started my first exposure to shooting wall hangers. Hope it continues today. Be safe ya'll.
