I'd lay back. Might see something but it's been my experience deer will hold tight in a high wind.

I'm VERY serious about thinking of taking Friday off...the weather almost looks too good to pass up.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.

I'll be off Friday. Cold front is hitting and I will not be missing it.

A halloween buck from three years ago, it was 70 degrees and the middle of the afternoon. He was on a mission. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414624243.310800.jpg

I'm looking forward to hunting Friday. Will be my 4th sit of the season and will get another rut stand up.

Downside is winds will be whipping up to 40+ on the gusts. Won't deter me, but may prove uneventful for the whitetails.

Saturday is looking awesome though, low in the mid/upper 20's and winds in the single digits. Hopefully a lot of corn has come out in the past two weeks.

if it's going to be that windy I would definitely wait for next week, but if you decide to go good luck hope you get something.

I'm mainly going so I can do a few things.

Want to try making a licking branch with DHscent's product.

Want to pull a blackout camera and place on it, so need to swap cameras.

    Pull both camera cards

Hang a stand over said branch/cam site and let it sit until my vacation next weekend.

If deer are going to be hunkered down I can't think of a better time to get it done. If I can get it done quick enough I'll climb another stand another and sit the rest of the day.

Sitting in the stand last night confirmed that Halloween will likely be blowing up... I had more deer in the field than I have seen all year and there was major chasing going on 10 minutes after sunset. If I didnt have 3 does at 15 yards I would have hit the grunt.

Shaping up to be an epic day of hunting.

    41 for a high with a 5-10mph wind.

I checked the wind and yeah it is supposed to be strong until the last hour of daylight, then it slows down just in time to kill a big buck.
