[IMG]i shot this buck broadside @ 19 yards with a muzzy mx4. Blood trail was pretty much non existent & he went close to 300 yards into the thick stuff which is why I didn't find him until the next morning. I switched to killzones after that experience & haven't had any trouble since. I don't claim to be an expert but if you zoom in on the pic you can see the shot was about as close to perfect as you can get.

I wasn't trying to be rude. Just did not understand exactly what you meant? Rage is a total of two inch cut. The Blades are not 2" each. I was just going by what you said......

Did you double lung the deer in a deer drive? Fletch says Gore invented them too, after the internet, but before Rage. He wanted to throw an axe through Man Bear Pig.

You can bring down a deer with a field point if you hit it in the right place.
I've used Rage since they hit the market. I now use the Rage Chisel Tip. Before I shot Rage I used Vortex. I loved the Chisel Tip on them. When Rage added the Chisel Tip I had to have them.
The deer that I have had to track for a distance generally have not been the broadheads fault. It is usually operator error.
One thing I know that pertains to everyone. If you are confident in the equipment you use the less you will second guess yourself and over think things.
On the buck I shot last year, I was a nervous wreck when I first seen him coming across the neighbors property and jumped the fence on to my in-laws. I worried about the distance he would be at even though I knew it by heart. With all this over thinking, before the shot, that was going on when I went to full draw all was right in my world. I don't remember much except seeing the nock disappear through his body. After that I just about fist - pumped myself out of my stand and a 170 class deer lay dead 80 yds away.

Boy the fixed head users sure are concerned and insecure about what another hunter puts on the end of an arrow. It is possible that a Rage can open up a wider that 2" hole, the angle of the arrow on the exit can open a cut more than 2"

It takes a double lung shot to ensure a dead deer. Quartering shots can result in only one lung being taken out. A lung shot high and back will often result in less damage to the organ and in some cases a complete recovery by the deer. Low and forward with one lung equals dead deer. Most animals can function quite well on one healthy lung, including humans.

Muzzy or slick tricks. Muzzy has been proved more then almost any other head out there. Slick trick is really good also though, haven't seen many complain about them.

Or, maybe the Rage users are insecure and trying to use a big broadhead to compensate for something. ;)
