I always thought Charles was a idiot, but this actually makes sense. Race is only a issue when people make it one. People want to make it a issue because it makes a good story. It's about time we blow up this politically correctness crap. The truth is the truth, and Charles is speaking the truth. Black people have been brainwashed to believe white people are holding them back, but in reality they are holding themselves back by not taking the opportunities that are afforded to them as Americans. If you think your environment is holding you back, MOVE. Put your kids in a better school if the inner city schools aren't getting the job done. There's not a black kid in America who doesn't have the opportunity to get an education, but they have to want one and their parents have to push them to get it. Until they stop blaming others for their problems, they will never be able to move forward. I'm sure that sounds insensitive, but there are plenty of black people who have elevated themselves into productive and successful citizens. I personally don't care what color you are if you act like trash, your trash.
I feel for blacks like Barkley that work hard to raise above it all and having to watch these BS riots on TV tearing that black community back down.
To add to what Skywalker said, I think the slaves that worked and died in the country and helped power it to make it what it is today would be rolling over in their graves to know the opportunities their offspring have today and are not going for it.
