Oh Wise elders of Bowhunting.com I need some advice! ;)

I went down last monday to hang stands in my land that is an hour and a half away. Found that my number 1 stand has fallen over with the tree that it was on. I can't get it down without 2 people. . . . Point being, I'm going on vacation the first weekend and second week in november. I have tomorrow off and was thinking about hunting. I have 2 other stands, 1 sees ok action but its not the best. The 2nd stand I have never sat in. But its over a heavy heavy trail. Would you go hunting tomorrow or would you just wait until the rut when I'm on vacation

 

Ive never shot a deer sitting on the couch :p I would sit the one that sees OK action and save the heavy trail one for vacation. If it hasn't been pressured keep it that way. Unless you're sure about the wind.

 

Come over. I live on a golf course. :p Granted its not quite the same. But I could.

 

Hunt it I don't think you can put to much pressure in just one hunt

 

Ha. I hunt a golf course as one of my spots. People have a hard time understanding how different they act when you step off that fairway when they smell but cant see you.

 

Ive never seen anything other than a 2 point spike. But there are some world class fat does on it!

 

Talk to the superintendant. You never know and the one I hunt has some pretty good patches of property. Someones breeding those does.

 

Hunt smart, hunt the wind, dont leave a scent trail in, and hunt close to feeding areas till rut.

 

Uhm, if you have the chance to hunt....HUNT.

Really ...it is as simple as this...you CANNOT kill in your home....you never know when that magical sit will happen.....

 

I'd go to the stand over the heavy used trail.

 

You know what they say,"Bowhunt or Die!".

 

Bowhunt or... nothing dies.

 

Thats not true.....when I dont bowhunt....a little part of me dies inside...little by little.

 

Find a buddy and fix the #1 stand, then you have 3 options come vacation.
