Ugh. Woulda coulda shoulda. Almost had 150+inches for the contest. Shot over the back of a awesome buck at 29 yards. Action is heating up already. He came in to a couple doe bleats and thrashed a sappling at 50 yards and made a scrape at 29 yards. Seems a little bit ahead of schedule lol

My season shut down yesterday for a month when it opens back up in November we can shoot does for a week then it's back to bucks only.
Had an 8 pointer come within about 60 yards last night - no closer and was going to pass on him anyway.
I keep on trying to harvest a dang doe and on the days i want to I don't get one close enough and then on days I don't want to I have a parade of does funneling on by lol. Here pretty soon I'll be buck hunting hard and a doe will have to wait after I tag a buck

I'm not seeing anything. Cams are showing mostly night time movement still. Lots of new nice bucks on cam though! Nothing big yet. One 3yo in daylight yesterday morning so that's good! Here is the forecast for this week.
Been too busy with school and work, hopefully I can get out more soon. Especially with things starting to heat up.

Really hot here this weekend in Iowa too. That cold front comes rolling in Monday night -Tuesday day. Can't be more excited lol
Well here is my game plan, I've got Thursday and Friday off so I will be hunting tomorrow morning and afternoon and Friday will hunt until about noon. Then going to hunt a.m. and p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. I haven't totally decided which property I am going to hunt when yet but I do plan to take a doe this weekend. You see, for management purposes one of the two properties I hunt needs me to take doe more than the other - it also happens to be the property which has less buck prospects on it. So before the weekend is up I hope to have a doe or two in the freezer and 50 points on the board and if a certain buck shows up I will try and close the deal. Really only have a couple bucks that I will even consider at this point though (based on cameras), will not compromise for the sake of the contest or my own game plan! Good luck to you all the rest of the week/weekend. Weather doesn't look all that favorable here in the Midwest until next week at the earliest. Warm temps moving in this week. Oh well, it's been pretty ho hum so far!

Saw 3 does and 1 nine pointer around 110inches tonight. Pulled 2 cards out of cams and the big boys are showing up in last hour of light and first hour of light. Had a 130 inch 8 pointer make a scrape off of my stands tree branch lol. Things are heating up!
