Depends on how hard its raining. A light drizzle isn't bad but if its pouring I stay home until it stops since they're usually bedded down during a hard rain.

I hunted tonight in drizzle and saw the most movement of the year.

It's been raining back home in Tennessee non-stop and it's supposed to rain here in Maryland for the next few days. Might be able to make it back out tomorrow afternoon for a bit.

Light rain can be the best hunting you ever experience. Heavy rain just stay home, deer usually bed up. If you are going to hunt the rain though, make sure you make a great shot, because finding a blood trail in the rain can really suck, especially in grass.

I really don't think the rain bothers deer at all. I got caught in a hard rain while in the stand yesterday as I watched a doe in the cut corn. She acted as if nothing was happening. Luckily it didn't last too long and the tree I was in served as a great umbrella.

I don't intentionally hunt in the rain unless I can do so in a blind. I've been caught by it a few times and deal with it as best I can. I don't personally mind getting wet but I absolutely hate getting all my equipment wet. It just isn't worth all the hassle of drying everything out and preventing rust on all the non-stainless metal, screws and pins.

Some of the biggest bucks I have ever seen on foot was during a drizzling rain.

I've wondered the same thing. I don't mind a lite rain or drizzle but I haven't seen deer while hunting during it. When you guys talk about hunting in the rain and it possibly being the best hunt, where are your stands? Are they on a field edge or in the timber in the cover? Or does it matter? I hunt as much as I can any chance I get with my job being the busiest in the fall so rain doesn't bother me, but does it matter where your stand is?
