Just got in stand. 10 minutes past legal shooting, still too dark. What a nightmare start. Got to within 8 miles of property and hit flooding. Usually they put a sign up at the intersection signifying water on roadway. Not this time, roadway was too narrow to u turn or 3 point turn around so had to back up about a mile to the main road. Apparently one or both of my back up lights is burned out. Less than 4k on the odometer, lovely. Finally get to the property and another hunter was already down in the bottoms. Got dressed as my uncles hounds woke up and headed down. Half way down something came running up behind me and I about shat myself. Spun around without shrieking to see 3 of the hounds following me down. Shooed them off and got to an empty stand. Currently have 3 hounds running circles around me trying to figure out where my trail went. Keep coming back to the ladder but never looking up. Can't do anything but sit and laugh at this point. Good luck to the rest of ya
Getting soaked. Saw two doe and two fawns. Passed shots on all but the biggest. She never presented a shot. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
Had a shooter under me for 10 min and walked away right before legal shooting time. That's it so far awesome morning here.
Had a decent 8 point sneak up on me. He came within 30 yards but I couldn't get my bow off the hook and drawn in time.
Got in the stand at 5:30. Saw a red fox and 3 deer so far. A doe and 2 yearlings. They came through then circled back within 2 hours.
Had at least a small doe coming down the trail. It's so thick still couldn't keep an eye on her. Waited for her about 5 minutes and put my bow down. Finally seen her as she took a couple leaps back into the thick stuff and walked off fast. Between the dogs and the wind blowing every way but west not sure what spooked her. After this morning, just seeing something perked me up.
Whole lot of nothing for me this morning. Camera checks were disheartening as well. Don't have any oaks on the property, which means few deer. Barely even touching the plots Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
